I was a stay at home mom for 7 years, and I really enjoyed it. I have recently rejoined the workforce as a cook/clerk at a small convenience store restaurant. It can be physically challenging at times, my knees, feet and back certianly aren't thanking me, but I enjoy it most of the time and I am supporting my family. My husband is currently a stay at home dad and house husband who is working on getting approved for disability benefits since he has Meniere's disease and maintaining a steady job is pretty much impossible due to his attacks of vertigo, dizziness and headaches. It's an uphill struggle though as anyone who has applied for disability knows.
We are homeschooling our 7 year old son, and that is rewarding, challenging, and sometimes frustrating. We firmly believe though that we are doing the best thing for our son. I believe that how one educates ones children is a very personal decision, and what works for one may not work for another. So while I whole heartedly support and endorse homeschooling, I am aware that it is not right for everyone. I respect that a loving parent will always do the best that they can to do what they feel is right for their child.
The newest challenge in my life is the need to loose weight and change my lifestyle. I am trying to make healthier choices for myself and my family. It's not always easy, but I think I am on the right track.
Any questions? Ask. Worse that can happen is I ignore you :P
